The Bombay high court on Wednesday granted bail to Paulson Joseph, an alleged member of the Chhota Rajan gang and accused in the murder of journalist Jyotirmoy Dey.
The jailed gangster had on Thursday moved the court against the web series, saying that the 'use or misuse of the attributes of his personality' without his prior consent amounted to infringement of his 'personality rights' as well as defamation.
A senior police officer said on condition of anonymity that "we are probing the incident from all angles. But our line of investigation is going towards checking the possible involvement of people associated with the oil mafia".

Underworld don Chhota Rajan's aide Rohit Thangappan, who was behind bars for the murder of senior scribe Jyotirmoy Dey, was on Wednesday arrested in connection with a firing case involving a hotelier, two days after a local court sought his production, the police said.

Additional Chief Secretary K P Bakshi told reporters at a hurriedly-called press conference that all the cases against 55-year old Rajan, who has been deported from Indonesia, are being transferred to CBI because of its expertise in "handling transnational crimes".
